R.E.M. Accelerate Tour

R.E.M.'s final full-scale world tour, in support of their fourteenth album Accelerate. The tour comprised 77 main shows and numerous promotional appearances from May to November 2008, spanning North America, Europe, South America, and Asia. The North American leg featured Modest Mouse and The National as support acts. The touring band included longtime collaborators Scott McCaughey and Bill Rieflin. The tour was widely praised as a return to form, with the band delivering high-energy performances. R.E.M. would announce their dissolution in September 2011, making this effectively their farewell tour.
