Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band's Rising Tour, in support of The Rising (released July 30, 2002) — Springsteen's first album with the E Street Band since 1984's Born in the U.S.A. The tour launched August 7, 2002 at Continental Airlines Arena in East Rutherford, NJ. The 'Barnstorming' first leg played 46 arena shows in 46 different cities through December 2002. A 2003 stadium leg from mid-July through early October featured 33 dates at baseball parks and football stadiums, including 10 shows at Giants Stadium, shows at Fenway Park, and the final three nights at Shea Stadium. These were Springsteen's first full stadium appearances since the 1985 leg of his Born in the U.S.A. Tour. The tour played 120 shows in 82 cities across 17 countries.
