Bob Dylan
Headliner
Bob Dylan's famous 1966 world tour with The Hawks (later The Band), his first tour with an electric backing band. Each concert was split into two halves: an acoustic solo set followed by a full-band electric set that divided audiences. The tour covered North America, Australia, and Europe from February to May 1966. The Manchester Free Trade Hall show on May 17 is legendary — an audience member shouted 'Judas!' before the band launched into 'Like a Rolling Stone.' The tour was documented on The Bootleg Series Vol. 4 and the 36-CD box set The 1966 Live Recordings.
