American rockabilly/country singer from Maud, Oklahoma, born 1937. 'The Queen of Rockabilly.' 'Let's Have a Party' (1960), 'Funnel of Love' (1961), 'Right or Wrong.' Toured with Elvis Presley in 1955-56. One of the first women in rock and roll. Fierce, wild, raw vocals. Rock Hall of Fame 2009. Jack White produced her comeback.
