Toots and the Maytals

Jamaican ska and reggae band from Kingston, formed in 1962. Led by Toots Hibbert (d. 2020), who coined the word 'reggae' with the song 'Do the Reggay' (1968). Energetic, soulful roots reggae. Funky Kingston and Pressure Drop are essential. Toots was reggae's greatest vocalist.
