Nigerian drummer and musician from Lagos (1940-2020). The co-creator of Afrobeat alongside Fela Kuti — Allen's polyrhythmic drumming IS Afrobeat. Brian Eno called him 'perhaps the greatest drummer who has ever lived.' Solo career: Black Voices (1999), The Source (2017). Collaborated with Damon Albarn (The Good, the Bad & the Queen).
