American rock duo from Detroit, Michigan, formed 1997. Jack White (guitar/vocals) and Meg White (drums). White Blood Cells (2001), Elephant (2003), Get Behind Me Satan (2005). "Seven Nation Army," "Fell in Love with a Girl," "Icky Thump." Stripped-down garage blues-punk — guitar and drums only. Red, white, and black aesthetic. Disbanded 2011.
