American new wave band from New York City, formed in 1975 (disbanded 1991). David Byrne (vocals/guitar), Jerry Harrison (keys/guitar), Tina Weymouth (bass), Chris Frantz (drums). Pioneered art-punk and new wave. Stop Making Sense is the greatest concert film ever made. Albums include Remain in Light, Speaking in Tongues, and Fear of Music.
