Ron Hardy

American house music DJ from Chicago (1958-1992). Resident DJ at the Music Box club. Never released proper records — known entirely through tape recordings of his legendary sets. Played raw, intense, druggy house and proto-house. Frankie Knuckles' great rival. His Music Box sets are the Rosetta Stone of Chicago house. Died at 34.
