American musician from Los Angeles, born 1954. Pianist, singer, songwriter, producer. 'Forget Me Nots' (1982) — George Clinton, Will Smith ('Men in Black') sampled it. Straight from the Heart (1982), Posh (1980). Jazz training applied to funk, soul, boogie. One of the most underrated musicians of her generation.
