English shoegaze band from Leeds, active 1987-1995. Ian Masters, Graeme Naysmith, Chris Cooper. The Comforts of Madness (1990), In Ribbons (1992). 'Sight of You,' 'Throwing Back the Apple,' 'Fine Friend.' 4AD shoegaze — lush, layered, beautiful. Their debut was 4AD's fastest-selling album at the time. Underrated in the shoegaze canon.
