Senegalese band from Dakar, formed in 1970. Named after the Baobab Club venue. Blend of Cuban son, Senegalese mbalax, and West African traditions. Pirate's Choice (1982) is a world music classic. Reformed in 2001 after 15-year hiatus. Beautiful, mellow, groove-based African-Cuban fusion.
