American singer-songwriter from Winterhaven, Florida (1946–1973). Inventor of 'Cosmic American Music' — the bridge between country and rock. Member of The Byrds and Flying Burrito Brothers. GP and Grievous Angel (with Emmylou Harris) are cosmic country masterpieces. Died at 26.
