Ghanaian highlife musician from Accra (1919-1996). 'The King of Highlife.' Led the Tempos band. 'Day by Day,' 'Ghana Freedom.' Fused jazz, calypso, and traditional Akan music into the sound that defined West African popular music. Every highlife and Afrobeat musician descended from his innovations.
