English electronic musician and composer (1937-2001). BBC Radiophonic Workshop. Realized Ron Grainer's Doctor Who theme (1963) — one of the most famous pieces of electronic music ever. Created musique concrète and tape manipulation works. Unrecognized genius during her lifetime. Now celebrated as electronic music pioneer.
