Daphne Oram

English electronic musician and composer (1925-2003). Co-founded BBC Radiophonic Workshop in 1958. Invented the Oramics machine — a drawn-sound synthesis technique. An Individual Note (1972). Pioneer of British electronic music alongside Delia Derbyshire. Her work predated most synthesizer-based music.
